Chili’s : Top Fusion Menu

Hey Guys, coming up with the new blog after a long time. But I had to write about the delicious voyage that is the new Top Fusion Menu at Chili’s. I hopped in after some Durga Puja Pandal hopping and was tired to the core. They welcomed me with a warm smile and the top fusion menu. It made my day.IMG_20170925_233128_558

Located strategically inside the comforts of Acropolis Mall, my heart yearned for this place after the arduous(read Hot & Dusty) Pandal hopping. The decor of this place always manages to warm heart and please my eyes.

BBQ steak in Chimichurri with Corncob : It simply tasted amazing. Well done steak which did not go hard – now that’s a dream !! Most steaks are either slightly bloody or you end up using the entire power of your teeth to just get a bite.A healthy portion of Steak, with lots of mashed potato and roasted onion, topped with the Chimichurri Sauce. It was delectable the core and is a must must try. IMG_20171009_164011_918_wm

Orange Glazed Salmon : I’m a fish addict, and for years have been nicknamed ‘MECHO’ (the Bengali Ghost obsessed with Fish; and why not I’m a Bengali, we are renowned for just that and well , also laziness). I wear this name with pride. The Salmon was simply awesome, and yes the Barney Stinson kind . Its a must try, undoubtedly. A giant sized salmon with boiled exotic veggies and red rice. Yes, I have another Bengali trait. The love for rice. And the red rice is superb.IMG_20171009_163541_420_wm

Big Mouth Wings : ENORMOUS wings that satiated my eyes and my stomach. 6 giant wings, a subtle dip and hangry(anger that comes from hunger) me – perfect combination.

Blackened Bhetki (Fish) : This is another fish option that is equally delicious. This new addition to the menu happens to one of my favorites and not just coz I made this huge statement about being a ‘MECHO’ earlier (pun intended). I genuinely loved the bhetki, and the flavors infused perfectly. This also came with a helping of Red Rice & Boiled Veggies.  IMG_20171009_163303_599_wm

Roasted Veggies Fajita : A great vegetarian option – Exotic Veggies , Cottage Cheese, and a wide array of condiments. I always find the fajitas at Chili’s extremely filling and this wasn’t any different. A definite must try if Veg is on your mind. IMG_20171009_163032_543_wm

Coffee Mousse Cake : This was plain heaven. A rich & dense concoction of Coffee and Mousse atop a think slice of chocolate cake. A blissful experience. I really could not have imagined a better finale than this.IMG_20171009_163351_166_wm

Heartfelt Thanks to Pradosh Pati from Chili’s Acropolis for hosting this event. And many congratulations to the staff for their courteous and ever-so-smiling attitude.

Asia House : My PanAsian Home ..

Located in the Heart of Southern Avenue , close to Somaj Sebi Pujo / Lake Kali Bari – right beside Raymond’s Seconds Showroom. While Southern Avenue has many restaurants offering delectable Pan Asian food , this place is my recent favorite. With a wide array of offerings like Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Seafood, Asian, Malaysian, Singaporean their chef from Shanghai, China has nailed it. Being a experienced chef and a Chinese by origin his secret recipes definitely gives the place an edge.

The decor is minimalist but pretty. Coming to the food. We started with Shanghai Hawkers Soup, Hua Hin Highway Rolls ( veg & nonveg) followed by an array for Asia House special in house Dumplings. I personally love mild soups where the natural flavors of the ingredients aren’t inhibited by too much spice or sauce. And this soup was perfect. The rolls , especially the chicken one was quite nice. I fell in love with the pork dumplings since the stuffing was just optimum and the flavors of the pork infused perfectly with the spices. And who am I kidding here, pork rules!! The dumplings are definite must try.

In mains it was Pla Gra Tiem that won my heart. I’m a fish lover and obsessor, and for years have been nicknamed ‘MECHO’ (the Bengali Ghost obsessed with Fish). I wear the name with pride. Coming to the Pla Gra Tiem which is a traditional Thai Dish cooked in Garlic, Black Pepper and Basil Sauce. And I must say it was delectable to the core. The fish (basa) was fresh and blended perfectly with the sauces to create an memorable experience. This is another must try. I had the fish with another traditional Thai dish –  Khao Pad Krateim, Thai fried rice cooked in Thai oil and burnt garlic. Loved the combination.
After the mind blowing fish, I had the Hong Kong Sweet & Spicy Chicken which was spicier, but I welcomed the change of pallet.

Ended the meal with some conventional (read as one of my all time favorites) darshan with ice cream. Loved it.
The staff was helpful and the prices are really affordable. Only thing is , now I need to go back for their Khaw Suey – saw the couple next to me opt for the Khaw Suey and ever since I have been day dreaming about it.
