What do you call a PUNJABI Restaurant situated in KOLKATA run by a KERELITE man – A PARADOX ?? Well, that’s Punjabee Rasoi for you!! Punjabee Rasoi’s journey started in a tiny lane of Kasba 8 years ago and today they can boast of winning the prestigious Times Food Award not once or twice but 4 consecutive times.
What is their MANTRA of greatness – Simply, Exquisite Food !! Compromising the quality or taste of food is unpardonable for them and that has keept their charm alive in this era of ‘too many choices’ & ‘short attention span’.

My lunch with friends soon turned into a food-adventure when we ended up ordering a myriad of things from the menu. From the starters I went for the renowned lasuni chicken kabab( must try) and mutton adrak ke punje. And well, woooooooooooowwwww what a start!! The kababs were fresh, excellently marinated, soft, juicy, spicy – An overflow of favours!!

As a food #blogger I always engage in some amount of experimentation. As a part of that boldness I ended up ordering more than all of us could eat. I shared a mutton special biryani and a plethora of other delicacies. While the biryani rice was slightly cold I loved the fact that it came with two big size of deliciously succulent mutton & potato. This DALDA FREE, less oily, less spicy biryani was good.

We also had butter chicken(must try) that came in a yummilious creamy gravy, and some malai kulcha(must try) & cheese Kali mirchi kulcha. The malai kulcha was slightly sweet and tasted awesome with the butter chicken.

Finally I ended the day with some nice firni.I also vouched not to eat the rest of day but that didn’t turn out so well for me. 😛

A wonderful sight
